Cheetah Speed - Vol 1.1

Fitting Automation into Your Budget

Editor’s Notes:

Welcome to the first issue of Cheetah Speed! Back in the day when I was a shipping clerk in New York, I could never have conceived the advancements in moving products, freight or people. I spent most of my time in wonder – wondering when the driver was coming, or even if he was coming, and then wondering when the delivery would be made. We have come a long, long way. And automated logistics and planning software, once the domain of only the largest of corporations, has taken a leap forward technically and affordably. Cheetah Software has led the way.

Cheetah Speed is here to serve you as the voice of Cheetah Software and also provide you with relevant information that enables you to take advantage of this dynamic information era. We will keep you up-to-date with the latest in automation, streamlining news and breakthroughs.

Of course, we would like to work with you to upgrade your system to the most advanced, yet budget conscious system that exists (Cheetah, of course). However, we will endeavor to go beyond our product line with helpful tips and information to make your world an easier and more productive one.

We hope you enjoy our first issue of Cheetah Speed. Please feel free to write to us:

Scope: Fitting Automation into Your Budget

When we interview potential clients for Cheetah, there is one concern that comes up each and every time, and that is return on investment. We realized that cost considerations were getting in the way of the greater benefits of increased efficiencies in manpower and equipment utilization. We wondered if there was a way to keep initial costs down so that ROI would be immediate for our customers.

We knew we had the only affordable logistics system available out of the box, so to speak, for LTL and Delivery companies. But was there a way to lessen that upfront expense? Would it be possible for a broader marketplace to fully realize the benefits of real-time route optimization, delivery and dispatch information to dispatchers, drivers, customer service, shippers and customers, simultaneously? The answer is yes! Our development team came up with a solution that is painless, to both implement and to your budget. It is called SaaS or Software as a Service. It not only helps you but also helps us.

How SaaS Helps You!

As an SaaS provider, we are able to offer access to Cheetah Freight or Delivery on a subscription basis via the Internet. SaaS services are an important alternative, not only for smaller companies with small technology budgets, but also for larger companies as a superior way to outsource. With SaaS, updates, fixes and changes are rapidly and automatically conducted across the entire network. Technically, Cheetah Freight or Delivery can then be easily deployed and integrated into an existing network, with the added benefit that the cost per seat is most affordable.

The Cheetah Freight or Delivery SaaS solutions enable any size customer the advantage of implementing Enterprise quality software previously available only to large companies. Customers can readily implement Cheetah without having to make any capital investments in hardware or infrastructure. All they need is a high-speed Internet connection and GPS/JAVA- enabled Nextel phones.

Product Lines: Notes About the Product

In each issue of The Cheetah Tracker, we will take up a specific feature in our software and provide you with the inside scoop on how and why it is so important and usable. In this issue we examine the Cheetah Route & Planning Editor.

Dispatcher’s Dream

Imagine taking your best route planner, isolating him or her and giving them all the time in the world to plan routes. You can see them slaving over maps, planning routes shaving a minute or two here and there and keeping your guys on schedule. Unfortunately, that is not the way the world works and is obviously unrealistic. In reality your planner has more work to do in less time and demand on them continues to grow.

This is where Cheetah takes its place in your system, automating those dispatcher functions that used to be all done by hand. This in turn frees your route planner to focus on any exceptions that may come up. Our Route & Planning Editor at a minimum doubles your productivity, automatically managing the procedures that your planner would have to do by hand. This cumulative time savings directly effects your bottom-line.

Cheetah Line: Letters & Questions from the Field

JL writes: How long would it take to implement Cheetah Freight into my operation?

Dear JL: You will be very happy to hear that with our new SaaS model, implementation is significantly reduced from up to 6 months, to less than 60 days for the SaaS solution.

What does this mean to you?

A quicker installation means a less costly installation and a quicker ROI. Additionally, you get very robust hardware many times more powerful than you most likely would purchase with 24x7x365 support, something that often cannot be provided internally within your own organization.

Customer Comments: Real Users / Real Results

We feel the best way to find out about a product is to ask our customers directly and see what they have to say.

"Due to system inefficiencies, each driver used to do only eight or nine stops per day," said Beale Martin, Vice President of Operations at Winn's Hauling. "Soon after we had deployed Cheetah, we pushed driver productivity as high as 17 stops per day."

"As we don't have to keep putting more trucks and drivers on the road, our profits are up 24 percent," said Martin. "Eventually, we will have to add more drivers, but with Cheetah we will be able to grow profitably."
